Make a Difference Day Combats local hunger

We support the Des Area Religious Council’s food pantry ministry with donations of cash and supplies. The third Sunday of each month is “Food Pantry Sunday” when we collect a special offering. We recently collected a 1,000 items and $1,000 to increase our support to this important ministry when demand has been higher than normal.

Habitat for Humanity

We organize periodic workdays for Habitat for Humanity in the Central Iowa area.

Disciples Home Mission

We support the special offerings of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) such as Week of Compassion, Reconciliation, the Thanksgiving and Christmas offerings.

Family Promise (Formerly Interfaith Hospitality Network)

We partner with Urbandale U.C.C. to provide hospitality to the homeless by providing meals and overnight housing at the Urbandale UCC facility. We participate in this ministry 4-5 times a year.
