We are spiritual seekers working to grow in our love of God, deepening our connection to each other and sharing with the world our passion for justice and peace.

LIKE MOST CHRISTIANS, DISCIPLES AFFIRM:

  • Jesus Christ is the son of the living God, and offers saving grace to all

  • All persons are God’s children

BELIEFS AND PRACTICES ASSOCIATED WITH COVENANT CHRISTIAN (DISCIPLES OF CHRIST) INCLUDE:

  • Open Communion – Celebrated in weekly worship Communion is open to all who believe in Jesus Christ. The denominations emblem is the red chalice with a white St. Andrew’s cross and is a reminder of the central part Communion plays in worship.

  • Freedom of Belief – Persons are free to follow their consciences guided by the Bible, the Holy Spirit, study, and prayer, and are expected to extend that freedom to others.

  • Baptism by immersion – Although Disciples practice by immersion, other baptism traditions are honored.

  • Belief in the oneness of the church-All Christians are called to be one in Christ and to seek opportunities for common witness and service.

  • The ministry of believers. Both ministers and lay persons (male & female) lead in worship, service and spiritual growth.
